On 8 January 2018, the Charity Chairman of the Festival of Cricket 2018 visited Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama.
During the visit, Dr Nishan Siriwardena, Consultant Oncologist, acknowledged the Festival of Cricket’s donation of five Terumo infusion pumps to support the treatment of cancer patients. Dr B. I. Kurukasuriya, Director of Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, also formally confirmed receipt of the donation and expressed appreciation for the support provided.
The total cost of the equipment was approximately LKR 1,000,000 (around £5,000). A representative from the supplier, Hemas Pharmaceuticals Private Limited, was also present at the meeting.
The infusion pumps were delivered and installed by the supplier, who also provided on-site training to hospital staff at no additional cost.
