Charity Winning Numbers
The cricket tournament at the Festival of Cricket 2023 concluded successfully, with 32 OBA teams from major Sri Lankan schools participating in a total of 62 games. St. Sebastian's reached the finals after a thrilling victory over Maris Stella in the semi-final. However, they were defeated by the newly crowned champions of the Festival of Cricket 2023, St. Aloysius College. Congratulations to St. Aloysius on their win, and may they cherish this memory. In the plate final, St. Benedict's College and Mahinda College battled it out, with Mahinda College emerging victorious to claim the title. Vishwajith Chathuranga of Prince of Wales College was named the Player of the Tournament for the second consecutive year, while Harsha Vithana of St. Aloysius College earned the title of Player of the Final. The Ladies Tournament featured seven teams, and Visakha College emerged as the champions after defeating Musaeus College in the final of the Ladies Tournament. A very big thank to the official umpires for their commitment and to all the volunteers for their unparalleled support in making the event a success. Congratulations to all the winners, and a heartfelt thank you to all the participants for displaying sportsmanship, camaraderie, and unity. We are united as Sri Lankans, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the next episode of the Festival of Cricket (FoC) in 2024.
