The Promotional Evening for the Festival of Cricket was held on 14 June 2024 at the Sri Lankan High Commission in London. The event was organised to promote the 34th Annual Festival of Cricket, which was scheduled to take place on 7 July 2024 in Ilford.
Mrs Manorie Mallikarachy, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom, attended as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by distinguished guests, sponsors and members of the FOC Executive Committee.
Mrs Mallikarachy warmly welcomed those in attendance and expressed her appreciation for the work undertaken by the Festival of Cricket within the community. She commended the organisation for its contributions and wished the organisers every success in delivering another memorable event.
Official photographs were taken throughout the evening, capturing key moments and showcasing the spirit of the occasion, including the display of the Championship Trophy. Representatives of the defending champions, St Aloysius OBA, proudly presented the trophy for display and commemorative photographs.
Representatives from the festival’s principal sponsors were also in attendance, including SriLankan Airlines, Bank of Ceylon, Tillmax Technology, Universal Suppliers, BVS Mortgages, Phillip Nolan Accountants, The Student Visa Ltd, BL Property, SLT-MOBITEL, Dasa Consultants and Kevin Refrigeration. Business marquee holders also joined the event.
Following the presentations, guests were invited to the High Commission lawn, where light refreshments were served, providing an opportunity for networking and informal discussions ahead of the Festival.
