The 34th Annual General Meeting of the Festival of Cricket (FOC) was held on Sunday, 6 October 2024, at the London Post Office Sports Club, Greenford Road, Harrow HA1 3QL.
In his address, the outgoing President, Mr Kasun Waduge, reflected on his journey to the presidency and the many improvements implemented during his tenure. He looked back on his year in office, sharing the challenges he encountered and expressing his gratitude for the unwavering support he received from the outset. He also acknowledged the trust placed in him by the membership and extended his appreciation to all Heads of Sub-Committees, advisers and members for their invaluable contributions towards the successful delivery of FOC 2024.
The following office-bearers were elected as Executive Officers for the 2024/25 term:
- Mr Chinthaka Wickramasinghe – Honorary President, Kingswood College, Kandy
- Mr Umendra Tillekeratne – Honorary Secretary, Mahanama College, Colombo
- Mr Nisanka Rodrigo – Honorary Treasurer, St Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa
The newly elected President, Mr Chinthaka Wickramasinghe, expressed his sincere gratitude to the members of the participating OBAs for placing their confidence in him. Addressing the membership, he reflected on the remarkable growth of the Festival of Cricket from its humble beginnings to the thriving organisation it is today. He highlighted the challenges overcome throughout its history and the positive impact the organisation continues to make within the wider community.
As the organisation approaches a significant milestone—its 35th anniversary on 6 July 2025—he assured members that the Executive Committee remains fully committed to delivering a successful and vibrant Festival of Cricket while continuing to uphold the values and traditions that have defined FOC for more than three decades.
